People From The Past

The Year 3 Students of 3N and 3W experienced a time traveler's delight when they visited Bodden Town's Heritage Day. They viewed artefacts and learnt how to perform certain household chores using the same tools as their ancestors. Here are some of the chores they reenacted:
Churning Butter!

Exploring The Uses of Mysterious Cooking Tools!

Relaxtion and entertainment at the local crab races and shopping for coconut and thatch items after a hard day's work!

No one could resist the arrival of a delicious huge chocolate
doughnut from the present...... with sprinkles!


Where in the world do we get our food?








The Year 3 students are discovering where food sold in our local supermarkets comes from. In their unit "People From The Past" They are expected to make statements about the ways in which other cultures have influenced the way of life in Cayman. They invetigated the foods and created tally charts to show the countires where the least and most items came from.

Let's Go Sailing....The Movie

The students of Year 3 Williams are beginning to get their sea legs ! Sailing lessons are well underway. In addition to steering the boat, the students are learning how to survive emergency situations. They can already capsize and recover a Pico boat!

What does curiosity look like?




















The Year 3 Class is studying animal habitats. They are investigating survival, adaptation and preseveration of living things. After going on a worm hunt the Year 3 students got down to busines to study animal behaviour and adaptations. They then chose an animal to research and give a 10 minute oral presentation. The year 3 students could choose fron a variety of formats to show their understanding of animal habitats. Here are some presentations of students who opted for the Microsoft Powerpoint format.













Rain or Shine We're on Habitat Patrol !


























The year 3 students tackled the difficult subject of preservation at the Botanic Park and Turtle Farm. They generated questions and interviewed experts in the field. They also got to observe animal characteristics and behaviour.
