IB Project Presentations

Year 3 students have been presenting their IB projects this week. They created 3D islands and had to explain how some tourists, trapped in a cave on their island could be rescued. They included lots of different landforms on their map and were able to give directions from the mainland to the landing point and from there to the cave. They were able to show how much they iundrestoofd about maps, compasses, direction, landforms...if you like these photos, please look at the "Links We Like" where you will find a slideshow of more of our efforts.

Book Cooks

Miss Powell runs an after-school club called "Book Cooks" with Year 3 students. She reads us a story and asks us lots of questions and then we cook something to do with the story. Last week, we read the story of "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, Very Bad, No Good Day" by Judith Viorst and then made some wonderful "Sweeten Your Day Treats" from marshmallows, Rice Krispies and M&Ms. We hope that all our mums, dads, brothers, sisters and other family members who tasted them suitably impressed!
